BCGS Mission

The Boston Classical Guitar Society is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enrich lives and build community through sharing the art of the classical guitar.

As we seek to harness the transformative power of music in the service of the New England area, we are mindful of our commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity. We advocate for unity and welcome all races, ethnicities, religious beliefs, gender, sexual identities, and abilities.

Since its founding in 1977, the BCGS has presented leading guitarists in concerts and masterclasses while frequently supporting local competitions, ensembles, and festivals, including Festival 21 and Boston GuitarFest.

The BCGS regularly hosts member performance parties and facilitates interaction among Boston area professionals, students, aficionados, and audiences.  The BCGS Artist Series is the foremost classical guitar concert program in New England.  Recent artists have included:

Essential support comes from the Augustine Foundation, Mass Cultural Council, Coastal Heritage Bank, Gyre Music, and individual donors.
