The Boston Classical Guitar Society is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to enrich lives and build community through sharing the art of the classical guitar.
As we seek to harness the transformative power of music in the service of the New England area, we are mindful of our commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity. We advocate for unity and welcome all races, ethnicities, religious beliefs, gender, sexual identities, and abilities.
Since its founding in 1977, the BCGS has presented leading guitarists in concerts and masterclasses while frequently supporting local competitions, ensembles, and festivals, including Festival 21 and Boston GuitarFest.
The BCGS regularly hosts member performance parties and facilitates interaction among Boston area professionals, students, aficionados, and audiences. The BCGS Artist Series is the foremost classical guitar concert program in New England. Recent artists have included:

The BCGS is also a partner of both the Hingham Sunday Sounds, and the Tufts Library Saturday Events Series, featuring local professionals and bringing classical music to the suburban community free of charge
The BCGS website provides space for “classifieds” for instrument sales as well as a “member’s journal” page allowing members to publish articles related to the classical guitar.
