DESCRIPTION:Ria Modak & Angela Varo\, Guitar & Violin Duo \nPraised for their “perfectly lovely melding of Indian and Andalucian song” (The Wire) and “intimate\, acoustic folk music… enmeshing ethereal guitar and flamenco-influenced violin (I CARE IF YOU LISTEN) Duo Maratin comprises guitarist\, vocalist\, and composer Ria Modak and violinist\, composer\, and producer Ángela Varo. \nThe duo was founded in 2023 in Boston\, where Modak and Varo graduated respectively from the dual degree program between Harvard and the New England Conservatory and the Berklee Global Jazz Institute\, studying and playing with\, among others\, Vijay Iyer\, Terri Lyne Carrington\, Danilo Pérez\, and Ali Sethi. Since then\, the duo has performed at venues ranging from Roulette Intermedium as part of the second annual M3 Festival to Harvard University’s Arcade Radio series. \nDuo Maratin\, whose name derives from the Andalusi Arabic word for “two times\,” explores the shared histories and sonic lineages connecting Hindustani\, flamenco\, Arabic\, and jazz music. Grounded in these traditions but firmly embracing an experimental approach\, Modak and Varo explore the interstitial spaces between improvisation and folk song\, ancestral pasts and cosmopolitan futures\, and tradition and modernity.

DESCRIPTION:Marisa Sardo released her first album with Frameworks Records in 2023\, titled Beyond Reach. Marisa bring a uniquely feminine perspective to global audiences\, and often includes a variety of diverse music including music written by women\, new music\, African music\, South American music\, and European romantic music. \nSince being awarded in over 20 international competitions\, Chicago-born guitarist Marisa has emerged as one of today’s most exciting young artists to see perform live. Born in the United States from Italian parents\, she holds a dual-citizenship and is an active musician in music scenes all over the world. She began playing at the age of 4\, and at a young age\, she started competing in and winning local competitions. She has performed in numerous venues in Europe as a guest soloist\, including the Mozarteum University in Salzburg\, Austria\, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam\, Netherlands\, San Simone church\, and Accademia Chigiana concert hall in Siena\, Italy\, and various venues in Milan\, Italy. She has also performed in multiple operas as the on-stage performer\, including Beatrice and Benedict and Le Avventure du Roi Pausole. \nMarisa received a postgraduate Performer Diploma from New England Conservatory in 2023. She received her Master of Music degree from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University in 2022. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University in 2020\, and she also studied at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan\, Italy in 2018\, and at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena\, Italy in 2018.

DESCRIPTION:Jhon Alvarado\, guitar virtuoso\, re-energizes the classical guitar repertoire with captivating contemporary performances of world renowned 20th and 21st century composers. Jhon’s eclectic concert program’s continually take his audience members on trips around the world discovering music from different corners of the globe\, often beginning in Latin America and ending as far as Japan and the Middle East. In March of 2018\, Jhon Alvarado was awarded the prestigious President’s Honor Recital Award from the University of Redlands\, for displaying high levels of musicianship and performance on the concert stage. In 2021\, Jhon earned his M.M. from the New England Conservatory where he studied under Maestro Eliot Fisk and Jerome Mouffe. \nAlong with his performance experience\, Jhon Alvarado is a devout music educator. Inspired by his studies at the New England Conservatory\, Jhon believes that “Music in education plays an essential role in the early stages of a child’s development by fostering a growth mindset that rewards and praises students based on effort put forth rather than test score or innate ‘talent.’” Jhon is currently located in Boston\, MA and teaches guitar to students of all ages through his in-person and online private guitar studio.

SUMMARY:John Muratore
DESCRIPTION:Highly acclaimed classical guitarist John Muratore performs regularly as a solo recitalist\, concerto soloist and chamber musician. As a solo artist he has appeared extensively throughout the United States\, Canada\, Europe and Russia. He has collaborated with numerous chamber ensembles including Emmanuel Music\, the Spectrum Singers\, Chorus Pro Musica\, Alea III\, Boston Musica Viva and Counterpoint. Recent appearances as concerto soloist have been with the Ridgefield Symphony\, Vermont Symphony and Symphony by the Sea under the direction of Jonathan McPhee. \nAmong the composers with whom John has worked closely to produce new solo and chamber works for the guitar are Daniel Pinkham\, Scott Wheeler\, Larry Bell\, Roger Zahab and Jon Appleton. Mr. Muratore has been the featured soloist at numerous international venues including the Academie Festival des Arcs (France)\, St. Petersburg (Russia) Chamber Concerts\,  the Atelier International Concert Series in Paris and AIMS (American Institute for Musical Studies\, Graz\, Austria). \nThe Boston Globe has described him as “a fleet-fingered and musicianly performer” and has characterized his playing as…”unleashing so many different varieties of tone and color in quick succession…a kind of aural iridescence.” John\, whose live performances have often been featured on NPR\, WGBH Radio’s Classical Performances has recorded for Albany\,  Pont Nuef and Arabesque Records. His most recent CD\, Domenie\, is a collaboration with accordionist Roberto Cassan. His critically-acclaimed solo CD\, Shadow Box\, has been hailed by Britain’s Classical Guitar magazine as “a fine recording\, with serious intent”\, and his most recent offering\, Noël-A Classical Guitar Christmas\, has been listed by CD Baby as one of the top-selling Holiday-Classical albums for 2012. Mr. Muratore is on the faculty at Boston University\, Dartmouth College and is coordinator of the guitar program at the All Newton Music School.

DESCRIPTION:Classical guitarist Catherine O’Kelly is an active performer throughout New England\, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. She performs regularly as part of the concert series for The Shirley Meeting House in Shirley\, MA.  In June 2020 she founded and directed the Online Guitar Festival\, providing performance opportunities\, master classes\, composition classes\, and songwriting classes to guitarists of all ages and levels.  \nCatherine earned her Master’s degree in guitar performance from The Hartt School in CT where she studied with Richard Provost; and a BA in music and philosophy from Vassar College. She is currently finishing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in classical guitar performance at The Hartt School in West Hartford\, CT\, where she studies with Christopher Ladd.  She has performed in master classes for Jason Vieaux\, Odair Assad\, Sergio Assad\, Andrew York\, Vladimir Gorbach\, Antigoni Goni\, Oscar Ghiglia\, Eliot Fisk\, and Jorge Caballero. \nIn addition to her performing and academic studies\, Catherine teaches at The Rivers School Conservatory in Weston\, MA; Dana Hall School in Wellesley\, MA; Powers Music School in Belmont\, MA; and at The Community School of the Arts in Storrs\, CT\,  and is currently a board member of the Boston Classical Guitar Society.

SUMMARY:David William Ross
DESCRIPTION:David William Ross is a New England based guitarist\, tea drinker\, and connoisseur of steel cut oats. His recordings and performances have been lauded for their sensitivity\, virtuosity\, and depth of musicality. Ross frequently works with contemporary composers and is active in cultivating new repertoire for the guitar. He has premiered works by Frank Wallace\, Georges Raillard\, Ferdinando DeSena\, Peter Dayton\, Pierre Schroeder\, among many others. Trained in classical and jazz\, Ross has developed a flexible approach\, nuanced and uniquely personal\, that is unconstrained and essentially musical. \nRoss’ work as a session player has led to an extensive working knowledge of the recording studio. He has developed an approach to engineering and recording that goes beyond simply capturing a performance. Ross creates organic and original recordings that elucidate the creative motive of the artist and clarify the underlying aesthetic of the music. His engineering and mixing credits span many genres include classical\, jazz\, folk\, indie rock\, barbershop quartet\, pop. \nRoss holds degrees in music theory\, composition\, and guitar. As an educator\, he has taught courses in jazz improvisation\, music theory\, ear training\, composition\, music history\, and aesthetics\, as well as individual instruction in guitar and recording.

DESCRIPTION:Award winning guitarist Francesco Barone has performed throughout the United States as a soloist and chamber musician. SUMMARY:Brooks Robertson
DESCRIPTION:Brooks Robertson just doesn’t need much more than two thumbs\, eight fingers and six strings on a wooden box to carry his listeners away. He utilizes his superb technical abilities to play bass\, rhythm and melody simultaneously and surpass the borders of conventional genres. He merges hauntingly beautiful compositions\, country rhythms and jazzy harmonies with funky licks into his very own art form. \nIn 2018\, he graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Professional Music — focusing on Contemporary Writing & Production\, Music Business\, and minoring in Theory of Jazz and Popular Music. \nAlthough he is deeply rooted in the powerful tradition of the genre\, founded by the likes of Merle Travis\, Jerry Reed\, Thom Bresh and Buster B. Jones\, Brooks also draws inspiration from the elegant mastery of the legendary Chet Atkins and other phenomenal players. His own compositions and arrangements have even been compared to fingerstyle jazz champions Lenny Breau and Earl Klugh. Now\, as energy and maturity come together\, this young man is ready to step out of his mentors’ shadows and electrify the world with the sheer acoustic beauty his fingers create\, when touching a set of strings. \nIn addition to worldwide recognition as a performer\, Brooks is regarded as an educated\, experienced\, knowledgeable teacher of Fingerstyle guitar lineage\, instructing students from the traditional to the contemporary\, keeping the legacy of Fingerstyle alive and well. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Guitar Department at Berklee College of Music in Boston\, MA.

DESCRIPTION:About Jim Skinger\nJim is a guitar a teacher\, performer\, recording artist and composer. He taught guitar at Clark University\, Worcester MA\, Marywood College in Scranton\,PA and at the State University of NY in both Binghamton and Oneonta. \nJim’s solo concerts and performances with classical and jazz ensembles have insured a continually busy performance schedule. His compositional output is diverse and includes his flute and  guitar piece “Just For Friends” and “Suite Ibiza” for solo guitar\, both published by Columbia Music Co. Editions Daminus of Germany  published “When the Birds Goodbye To The Day”\, as well as guitar duo\, quartets and chamber music. \nHe has also performed at Carnegie Hall in New York\, and the Royal Festival  Hall\, London as well as in numerous countries including Austria\, Germany\, Russia\, Czech Republic\, and Belarus. \nAbout Mariellen Sears\nA native Cape Codder\, flutist Mariellen Sears has performed as a chamber and orchestral musician throughout the United States and Eastern Europe. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts/Lowell (BA and MM)\, her primary teachers were Virginia Sindelar (Leguia) and Iva Milch. She also studied with Martha Woodward and Eleanor Lawrence and studies Irish Traditional Flute with Shannon Heaton. Currently Ms. Sears performs with the Cape Symphony\, Trio Vivo\, the Scorton Chamber Ensemble and the Metropolitan Flute Orchestra and was a member of the former Simon Sinfonietta. She has also performed with the American Wind Symphony Orchestra (PA)\, the Manchester Philharmonic (NH) and the Plymouth Philharmonic (MA) Orchestras. She has appeared in concert with Joshua Bell\, YoYo Ma\, Eileen Ivers and John Pizzarelli. \nMs. Sears taught in the Nauset Public Schools for 34 years and is currently on the faculty at UMass/Dartmouth and at the Cape Conservatory (West Barnstable\, MA) where she teaches both Suzuki and Traditional Flute pedagogy. She is the director of the Cape Conservatory Adult Flute Choir. Ms. Sears is a certified Suzuki Flute Instructor and a trained “Kinderflute” teacher.

As an educator\, he has taught courses at Fitchburg State University\, Keene State College\, and the Vermont Jazz Center in jazz improvisation\, music theory\, ear training\, composition\, and music history\, as well as individual instruction in guitar and recording/mixing. DESCRIPTION:Kim’s approach to the guitar includes new music\, education\, and public service. Her performances of classical works\, original pieces\, and collaborations with jazz and traditional players have been featured on National Public Radio\, at the Peabody Institute Fretfest\, and on five recordings. Her projects combining performance\, American music history\, and educational outreach have been funded through grants from the Center for African American Southern Music and Yale Alumni Ventures. \nAt Berklee College of Music\, Kim served as Assistant Chair of Guitar for five years before becoming Chair of Guitar in September 2018. As part of her curriculum development for the department\, she authored the book Classical Technique for the Modern Guitarist\, which was published by Berklee Press/Hal Leonard in 2016. Her genuine interpretations breathe life into the music\, captivating audiences during her nationally and internationally performed recital tours. \nShe holds Vocal Performance and Music Education degrees from Ithaca College\, and is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s Alexander Technique Training Program where she now teaches. \nAbout Dave McLellan\nDave McLellan has performed in the U.S.\, South America\, Great Britain\, and Europe since 1976\, including debut and chamber appearances in Jordan Hall\, Carnegie Hall\, Merkin Hall\, and Wigmore Hall (London). Beginning in 1981\, he lived a double life as software engineer and concert guitarist with duo partner Neil Anderson.   The Anderson-McLellan Duo gave several hundred concerts throughout the 1980’s\, including two concert tours of Great Britain\, and festival performances in the US and South America.  Supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the D ’Addario Foundation\, they gave their farewell performance in November 1989 in Merkin Hall\, New York\, in a program of American duo guitar music\, including 3 premier performances. Mr. McLellan’s collaborators include the late guitarist/composer Frank Wallace\, the Serata Quartet\, soprano Rebecca Grimes\, soprano Rebekah Alexander\, contralto Emily Marvosh (Handel & Haydn Society\, Lorelei)\, flutist Tracy Kraus\, violinist Judith Eissenberg\, and guitarist Edward Flower. Mr. McLellan has served on the faculties of The Hartt School and the University of Connecticut\, where he also performed regularly with Edward Flower. He currently serves on the faculty of the Performing Arts Center – Metrowest of Framingham\, MA. He is a self-taught free-lance timpanist and mallet percussionist and has appeared with community and professional orchestras in the Metrowest Boston area. He is the timpanist\, publicist\, and guitar soloist of the Lincoln-Sudbury Civic Orchestra\, in residence at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.

DESCRIPTION:Thatcher Harrison is a guitarist and a composer. As a guitarist\, he plays everything from classical guitar to jazz guitar\, to fingerstyle guitar\, to popular/rock guitar. As a composer\, he deftly combines influences from many genres of music to create pieces that satisfy both the heart and the mind. \nAs a competitor\, Thatcher Harrison has won 20 prizes in regional\, national\, and international competitions\, most notably 1st Prize at the 2021 Twents Gitaarfestival International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition\, 1st Prize at the 2021 Pleven Guitar Festival Fingerstyle Guitar Competition\, 1st Prize at the 2020 Boston Guitarfest Competition\, 1st Prize at the 2020 Atlanta Festival Guitar Competition\, and a winner of the 2019 National YoungArts Foundation Competition. \nAs a composer\, Thatcher Harrison specializes in what he calls “classical fusion” composition: pieces based in classical composition and performance techniques\, but with influences from jazz music\, rock music\, fingerstyle guitar music\, film score music\, and world music. While Thatcher is best known for his compositions for solo guitar\, he also loves to compose for different instruments and ensembles\, and he has completed several commissions for soloists and ensembles alike. \nAs a performer\, Thatcher Harrison chooses to perform unconventional and daring programs\, oftentimes consisting primarily of his own compositions. Fresh off his concert at the 2021 Boston Guitarfest\, Thatcher’s upcoming concert season will see him expand into the international scene\, as he will perform concerts for the Pleven Guitar Festival in Bulgaria\, the Twents Gitaarfestival in the Netherlands\, and the Domaine Forget International Music Festival in Canada. In years past\, Thatcher has performed at such notable concert halls as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall\, Jordan Hall\, Symphony Hall\, the Baryshnikov Arts Center\, and RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. Thatcher also performed on Episode #376 of NPR’s From The Top in 2019. \nThatcher is currently studying for his Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance at New England Conservatory with Eliot Fisk and Jérôme Mouffe\, and he also studies privately with flamenco virtuoso Grisha Goryachev and classical guitar virtuoso Scott Borg. In 2021\, Jhon earned his M.M. from the New England Conservatory where he studied under Maestro Eliot Fisk and Jerome Mouffe. \nAlong with his performance experience\, Jhon Alvarado is a devout music educator. Inspired by his studies at the New England Conservatory\, Jhon believes that “Music in education plays an essential role in the early stages of a child’s development by fostering a growth mindset that rewards and praises students based on effort put forth rather than test score or innate ‘talent.’” Jhon is currently located in Boston\, MA and teaches guitar to students of all ages through his in-person and online private guitar studio.

DESCRIPTION:The Transcontinental Duo\, formed in 2000 by Igor Golger and Hiroko Kajimoto\, performs in various styles\, from baroque and classical to funk rock\, even though both were students in a classical conservatory setting. They play music from official sources\, as well as transcribing music from old phonograph recordings. \nHiroko Kajimoto graduated from the Osaka College of Music\, and the Boston Conservatory. Her main instrument is flute\, and she also plays many other woodwind instruments\, and guitar. \nIgor Golger graduated from the Boston Conservatory in guitar performance\, and also studied the Russian 7-string guitar\, an instrument that has been kept alive in Russia by gypsies and rare classical music enthusiasts.

DESCRIPTION:Back Bay Guitar Trio formed in 2002 and has performed at Dartmouth College\, Longy School of Music\, Berklee College of Music\, St. Anselm College\, University of New Hampshire\, The House of Blues and at the world renowned Boston Hatch Shell. The BBGT have also been featured artists in concert series for the Boston Classical Guitar Society\, the New York City Classical Guitar Society\, and opened up for guitarist Al Dimeola at the Lebanon (NH) Opera House. The Back Bay Guitar Trio toured Germany in the summer of 2009 and appeared as featured artists at the Hildener Meisterkurs in Hilden and a concert sponsored by the U.S. Consulate at the Nebbiensches Gartenhaus in Frankfurt. \nAbout the Members\nJohn Mason grew up in Westwood Mass and currently resides in Northampton Mass. He studied at Middlebury College\, graduating in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in music. He furthered his music education at the Berklee College of Music the following year. In 2002\, he won the Guitarmageddon National Championship at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. He is currently on faculty at Westfield State College\, Holyoke Community College and the Northfield Mount Hermon School. In addition to being in the Back Bay Guitar Trio\, John performs with the improv group Solo Mission with drummer Gary Rzab. \nDavid Newsam currently works as an assistant professor in the guitar department at Berklee where he has taught since 1989. He is also employed as a senior lecturer in music at Dartmouth College in Hanover\, NH where he teaches guitar and jazz improvisation. David created the jazz guitar program at the University of New Hampshire where he teaches\, directs the UNH Jazz Guitar Ensemble and coaches jazz ensembles. He is a former faculty member of the National Guitar Summer Workshop. David performs solo and group engagements throughout New England.\n \nJason Ennis is an exciting voice in the world of jazz guitar. His unique sound\, deep groove and sensitive feel\, along with a diverse background in jazz\, blues\, Brazilian music and classical music have made him highly in demand as a soloist\, sideman\, bandleader and musical director. A graduate of Middlebury College (BA in music)\, Jason attended Berklee College of Music (Boston) and The San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

DESCRIPTION:Emma Moseley\n \nBorn in Baton Rouge\, Emma Dean quickly found herself growing up in small town\, Mississippi. It was here that she decided to pick up the guitar at the age of 6\, and has been willing her small hands to grow and reach ever since. Emma also found her voice at a young age\, singing and playing in a quaint\, wooden church that was filled with true southern tradition\, love\, and charm. Lucky for Emma\, there aren’t many distractions in small town\, MS to divert a kid’s attention from the music she sought. In fact\, MS was the perfect place to cultivate a serious guitarist and vocalist. Emma became inspired by the musical traditions of the delta (BB King\, Robert Johnson\, Sister Rosetta Tharpe\, Muddy Waters) and was fortunate to encounter one of southern Mississippi’s great blues players\, Jeromy Spiers\, who became Emma’s mentor and teacher throughout her young childhood. Spiers introduced Emma to the fingerstyle playing of the likes of Chet Atkins\, while at the same time Emma began to undertake classical guitar and voice study at age 9 with Hammond\, LA’s Patrick Kerber and Dr. David Bernard at SLU. Clearly\, Emma’s musical climate for guitar study was as rich as the southern soil she was rooted in- an ideal place for a music kid to grow and bloom. Emma has sought teachers of varied backgrounds and genres (John Konesky of Tenacious D fame\, fingerstyle genius Brooks Robertson\, John Knowles\, CGP\, Bobby Stanton\, and Guy Van Duser\, among others). The music of Tommy Emmanuel was a natural progression for Emma\, who has attended Emmanuel’s workshops and camps\, and considers performing with him an honor. Along the way\, Emma relocated to Austin\, TX\, in 2013\, where she met and has performed with the great Pete Huttlinger\, studied with Van Wilks\, and has been performing regularly in the rich Austin music scene. \nNow\, a junior at Berklee College of Music\, Emma won her full tuition scholarship as a finalist through Lee Ritenour’s Six String Theory competition.  She will graduate with a double major in Guitar Performance and Music Business Management.  In between her Boston studies\, Emma’s past few summers have been spent attending the Chet Atkins convention in Nashville with America’s greatest thumb pickers\, performing on Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour with Eric Johnson\, touring across America with several bands\, recording several projects\, studying at the Rocky Mountain Guitar Camp (on scholarship from Gretsch) and continuing to grow and develop as a young woman in the music world. \nKatie Graves\n \nKatie Graves is a fingerstyle guitarist from Columbus\, Ohio. She currently studies guitar performance at Berklee College of Music. In Spring of 2022\, Katie was awarded the Guitar Department’s top Spring Award\, the Jimi Hendrix Scholarship. Katie is the lead student session player in the Guitar/Screen Scoring cross-course collaboration\, and\, as part of this\, gives seminars each semester to the Berklee Film Scoring Department on writing for the classical and electric guitar. Katie also works for the Berklee Vocal Department as an accompanist. Outside of Berklee\, Katie works as a studio musician\, pit guitarist\, transcriber and editor of solo guitar arrangements for publication\, and a concert performer. She teaches private lessons\, and specializes in finger-style guitar technique including injury rehabilitation\, arranging\, and reading/writing for the classical guitar.

SUMMARY:Tedesco Duo
DESCRIPTION:Tedesco Duo is a lively flute and guitar duo from New England comprised of Arielle Burke on flute and Catherine O’Kelly on guitar. They perform repertoire from all eras\, with an emphasis on contemporary music. \nArielle and Catherine began performing together in 2011 as students at The Hartt School. Their first performance was of Sonatina for Flute and Guitar by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco\, which is what prompted them to name the ensemble “Tedesco Duo.” They have since performed the works of composers such as Mauro Giuliani\, Astor Piazzolla\, Phillip Houghton\, Libby Larsen\, Roberto Sierra\, and Máximo Diego Pujol. \nTedesco Duo has been praised for their communicative playing and for performing repertoire that is colorful and spirited.

DESCRIPTION:Thatcher Harrison is a guitarist and a composer. As a guitarist\, he plays everything from classical guitar to jazz guitar\, to fingerstyle guitar\, to popular/rock guitar. As a composer\, he deftly combines influences from many genres of music to create pieces that satisfy both the heart and the mind. \nAs a competitor\, Thatcher Harrison has won 20 prizes in regional\, national\, and international competitions\, most notably 1st Prize at the 2021 Twents Gitaarfestival International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition\, 1st Prize at the 2021 Pleven Guitar Festival Fingerstyle Guitar Competition\, 1st Prize at the 2020 Boston Guitarfest Competition\, 1st Prize at the 2020 Atlanta Festival Guitar Competition\, and a winner of the 2019 National YoungArts Foundation Competition. \nAs a composer\, Thatcher Harrison specializes in what he calls “classical fusion” composition: pieces based in classical composition and performance techniques\, but with influences from jazz music\, rock music\, fingerstyle guitar music\, film score music\, and world music. While Thatcher is best known for his compositions for solo guitar\, he also loves to compose for different instruments and ensembles\, and he has completed several commissions for soloists and ensembles alike. \nAs a performer\, Thatcher Harrison chooses to perform unconventional and daring programs\, oftentimes consisting primarily of his own compositions. Fresh off his concert at the 2021 Boston Guitarfest\, Thatcher’s upcoming concert season will see him expand into the international scene\, as he will perform concerts for the Pleven Guitar Festival in Bulgaria\, the Twents Gitaarfestival in the Netherlands\, and the Domaine Forget International Music Festival in Canada. In years past\, Thatcher has performed at such notable concert halls as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall\, Jordan Hall\, Symphony Hall\, the Baryshnikov Arts Center\, and RiverCenter for the Performing Arts. Thatcher also performed on Episode #376 of NPR’s From The Top in 2019. \nThatcher is currently studying for his Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance at New England Conservatory with Eliot Fisk and Jérôme Mouffe\, and he also studies privately with flamenco virtuoso Grisha Goryachev and classical guitar virtuoso Scott Borg. Prior to attending NEC\, Thatcher studied with William Riley.

She is an experienced musical theater director and pit orchestra musician for scholastic and community productions throughout northeastern Massachusetts. A passionate educator and community builder\, she has served on the boards of numerous organizations that promote quality music education\, including the Massachusetts Music Educators Association\, the Contemporary A Cappella Society\, and the NE Voices festival. She holds degrees in music education from the University of Massachusetts and Gordon College. \nMichael Bester is an acoustic and electric guitarist\, bassist\, arranger\, producer\, and composer. He is versed in numerous styles\, from classical and jazz to rock and pop and beyond. In recent years\, he has performed in the Bester Papineau guitar duo\, as well as in pit orchestras for theatrical productions in the greater Boston area. He holds a degree in music performance from the University of Miami.

His second recording titled\,“Guitar Sudamericana\,” features compositions by José Luis Merlin\, Jorge Morel\, Eduardo Falú\, Antonio Lauro and Villa-Lobos. Most Recently “A Journey through Latin America\,” features compositions by Gentil Montaña\, Isaac Albéniz\, Francisco Tárrega\, and José Luis Merlin. As a supporter of chamber music with guitar\, Mr. Nigro collaborated to record 2 CD’s with flute and guitar; “Between Flute and Guitar” and “As in Dreams…Reflections for Flute and Guitar” which features the premiere recording of a new composition by José Luis Merlin titled\, Agua del Trapcihe. \nMichael holds a Master of Music degree in Guitar Performance from California State University\, Fullerton and a Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance from Indiana University\, Bloomington. His principle teachers were David Grimes and Ernesto Bitetti. He is an active member of the guitar community; he is co-founder of the Long Beach Classical Guitar Society\, co-author of “The Essential Classical Guitar Scale Book\,” reviewer of new music publications for Soundboard\, and sought after teacher and performer.

SUMMARY:The Hampton Trio
DESCRIPTION:The Hampton Trio (Beverly Davis\, Mark Davis\, Robert Margo) performs original music and arrangements from baroque to contemporary for an ensemble of classical guitar\, mandolin\, and mandola in G. Inspired by the groundbreaking work of Trio Nuovo (Japan) and Trio Chamorro (Spain)\, the Hampton Trio’s mission is to popularize and add to the existing repertoire for this instrumentation.  Recent performances by the Trio include the Vanilla Bean Coffeehouse (Pomfret CT)\, the “Virtual Summer Event” for the Classical Mandolin Society of America\, the “Sunday Sounds” series at the Hingham (MA) public library\, and the 46 Festival Internacional de Plectro de La Rioja (Logroño\, Spain)\, \nBeverly Davis (classical guitar) has been involved in plucked string ensembles since the 1980’s when she studied classical guitar with Reed Desrosier.  A long-time member and former president of the Providence Mandolin Orchestra\, Davis directed the 2001 International Festival of Mandolins in Providence\, Rhode Island.  She tours and records in a duo with Mark Davis and with the New American Mandolin Ensemble.  Mark Davis (mandolin) began his guitar and mandolin studies with Hibbard Perry in Rhode Island and continued his musical training with the eminent German guitarist Siegfried Behrend.  Over his career Davis has performed widely in the United States and abroad and has made numerous recordings. He is the Music Director of the Hampton Trio\, the Providence Mandolin Orchestra\, and the New American Mandolin Ensemble.  Robert Margo (mandola in G) is an accomplished performer on plucked strings. SUMMARY:Dave McLellan
DESCRIPTION:Known as a soloist and collaborative chamber music guitarist\, Dave McLellan has been performing in U.S.\, South America\, Great Britain\, and Europe since 1976. He has appeared in major concert halls such as Carnegie Hall\, Merkin Hall\, and Wigmore Hall (London). After setting aside the music career for one in software engineering in 1981\, he lived a double life as programmer and concert guitarist with duo partner Neil Anderson. The Anderson- McLellan Duo gave numerous concerts throughout the 1980’s\, including two concert tours of Great Britain\, performing also for festivals in the US and South America. Winning the 1987 Concerts Atlantique competition\, they appeared in Geneva\, Switzerland. Their farewell performance in November\, 1989 in Merkin Hall\, New York\, was a program of American duo guitar music\, supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the D’Addario Foundation. \nThroughout his career\, he has performed with various chamber ensembles and singers across New England\, including in recent years the Serata Quartet and soprano Rebecca Grimes (with whom he participated in the Symphonic Relief for Haitiworld-wide series of concerts to raise money for aid to earthquake ravaged Haiti in 2010). The 2012-2013 season brought his collaboration with soprano Rebekah Alexander for the ‘This is My Letter to the World’ series of concerts\, and with guitarist/composer Frank Wallace. Contralto Emily Marvosh (Handel & Haydn Society\, Lorelei) is a regular collaborator. An early collaboration with guitarist Edward Flower resulted in two full length recordings of duo guitar music for Music Minus One. In 2019 and 2020\, he collaborated on a series of concerts called Heart on Fire – Music of the Americas and Dreams of Summer with flutist Tracy Kraus. \nMr. McLellan served on the faculties of The Hartt School and the University of Connecticut\, where he also performed regularly with Edward Flower. He currently is on the faculty of the Performing Arts Center – Metrowest in Framingham\, MA\, and in the Town of Harvard Artist in Residence program. He directed a Renaissance-to-Rock garage band of teenagers at the Memorial Congregational Church in Sudbury\, while at the same time developing skills as a free-lance timpanist and percussionist. He continues to play timpani with orchestras in the Metrowest Boston area. He is the timpanist\, publicist\, and guitar soloist of the Lincoln- Sudbury Civic Orchestra\, in residence at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.

DESCRIPTION:For its December concert\, John Muratore  returns to the Hingham Sunday Sounds stage! \n\nHighly acclaimed classical guitarist John Muratore performs regularly as a solo recitalist\, concerto soloist and chamber musician. As a solo artist he has appeared extensively throughout the United States\, Canada\, Europe and Russia. He has collaborated with numerous chamber ensembles including Emmanuel Music\, the Spectrum Singers\, Chorus Pro Musica\, Alea III\, Boston Musica Viva and Counterpoint. Recent appearances as concerto soloist have been with the Ridgefield Symphony\, Vermont Symphony and Symphony by the Sea under the direction of Jonathan McPhee. \nAmong the composers with whom John has worked closely to produce new solo and chamber works for the guitar are Daniel Pinkham\, Scott Wheeler\, Larry Bell\, Roger Zahab and Jon Appleton. Mr. Muratore has been the featured soloist at numerous international venues including the Academie Festival des Arcs (France)\, St. Petersburg (Russia) Chamber Concerts\,  the Atelier International Concert Series in Paris and AIMS (American Institute for Musical Studies\, Graz\, Austria). \nThe Boston Globe has described him as “a fleet-fingered and musicianly performer” and has characterized his playing as…”unleashing so many different varieties of tone and color in quick succession…a kind of aural iridescence.” John\, whose live performances have often been featured on NPR\, WGBH Radio’s Classical Performances has recorded for Albany\,  Pont Nuef and Arabesque Records. His most recent CD\, Domenie\, is a collaboration with accordionist Roberto Cassan. His critically-acclaimed solo CD\, Shadow Box\, has been hailed by Britain’s Classical Guitar magazine as “a fine recording\, with serious intent”\, and his most recent offering\, Noël-A Classical Guitar Christmas\, has been listed by CD Baby as one of the top-selling Holiday-Classical albums for 2012. Mr. Muratore is on the faculty at Boston University\, Dartmouth College and is coordinator of the guitar program at the All Newton Music School.
