2013 New England Guitar Ensembles Festival

For 2013, the Boston Classical Guitar Society rededicated its spring festival to exploring the artistic and educational possibilities of the guitar ensemble format. Six groups consisting of 68 professional, student, and advanced amateur guitarists filled the First Lutheran Church of Boston for a day of intense, rewarding, and fun activities. Our featured guest was American guitar icon Andrew York, who performed a solo recital, composed an impressive new work for guitar orchestra (titled Hemingway), and conducted its world premiere.
Thank you to all participants, performers, and audience members for your enthusiastic support! We will present the 2014 NEGEF on April 26, 2014 – all ensembles, individual players, and auditors are welcome!
